WHO WE ARE

Bath and Groom, Corp. is a non-profit organization focused on supporting individuals experiencing homelessness across New York City. We provide access to essential services from community partnerships. By addressing personal care needs, we aim to reduce barriers to opportunities and foster confidence and well-being. Our work is driven by the belief that everyone deserves access to basic resources and the chance to move forward with respect and self-assurance.

Our Story

Bath & Groom was founded in 2020 by Andre Young, a Brooklyn-native with a deep commitment to serving others. Inspired by the values instilled in him by his grandparents, Andre developed a lifelong passion for supporting those less fortunate. His journey toward creating Bath & Groom began with years of firsthand experience, having worked as a general manager at Planet Fitness. In this role, he often interacted with homeless individuals seeking shelter and basic amenities at the gym. These encounters opened his eyes to the daily challenges they faced, and his empathy for their struggles deepened.

What started as small acts of kindness—sharing resources and offering handwritten notes of encouragement—quickly grew into something more significant. Motivated by a desire to address the barriers preventing individuals from accessing essential services, Andre established Bath & Groom as a nonprofit organization focused on providing a sense of restoration and care to those in need.

Through his unique blend of experience and compassion, Andre continues to lead the organization with a mission not only to offer practical assistance but also to inspire dignity, hope, and the possibility of a brighter future. Bath & Groom is the embodiment of his vision to create lasting change and help those facing homelessness regain their confidence and independence.
